International 9/11 Truth Action - May 11th, 2008

Today, May 11th, members of Newfoundland Labrador 9/11 Truth hit the streets taking part in the International 9/11 Truth action day... despite being hit by snow, sleet and rain along the way.

The journey started at a local NATO / UN war monument where we stood and held up signs to oncoming traffic. It wasn't long before we got a first honk of support, though most people just looked on in a seemingly state of confusion.

After about 10 minutes a group of young people, perhaps 20 of them all in their early teens, walked by and I approached them to have a conversation about the events of 9/11. This was the first highlight of the day, as they all seemed very interested in what we had to say and asked many questions before moving on to wherever they were going. Some of the people even brought up interesting truth facts about that day before I even had a chance to say anything ("The Bushes and Bin ladens are like this" one said as he crossed his fingers indicating that they were close), which of course was music to my ears. The more people awake in this generation of people, the better I say!

Unfortunately, it was here that the sleet and rain started... but, we pushed on to the next location. We moved to the Basilica Cathedral of St. John the Baptist where to stood for a while and had a very lovely chat with two people passing by who were very open to the idea of 9/11 Truth and aware of the true events that day, citing that they believed that 9/11 was an Inside Job.

On our way to the Colonial building, we had another lengthly discussion with a man who was waiting at a stop light with us. He was on the fence about the whole idea, but was very knowledgeable about everything involved. Most of what he discussed revolved around the Pentagon attack which was his smoking gun of it all. Even though he didn't really know what to believe, it was refreshing just to hear him talking about it and being so aware.

The Colonial building was just a pit stop for us. We were starting to get very cold and wet at this point and because the building was so far back from the road, my shirt and sign would have been useless. We took a pic anyway....

At this point, we decided to cut the march a little short as the rain and sleet was chilling us to the bone. Our final activity of the day was walking down the busiest street in downtown St. John's to spread the word and hand out DVD's to people passing buy... which, unfortunatly due to the weaather, there were few.

As we reached a stop light and waited to cross, we heard a female voice across from behind us screaming 'Woo-Hoo'. We turned our attention to the voice and when she noticed that she got our attention, she yelled out "ZeitGeist. Woo-Hoo". I yelled back that I agreed that that documentary was a good one and she continued to yell out to us from across the street giving us her support; "Now that's an activist" she said "Getting out there even in the snow!". "That's right. The 11th of Every Month Until Justice" I yelled out over the passing cars before moving across the street.

Before calling it a day and going back home to get warm, we had one final stop I wanted to make; The Masonic Temple... just for kicks.

Though there were only 2 of us out there getting active, the weather was crappy and very few people were out walking to hand DVD's to, the day was a total success. We had no confrontations, no back-talking and literally nothing negative happen. It was a wonderful experience and I hope that people out there who were driving by get inspired and get out there with us next month. We'll have better weather, bigger signs and be out there longer. I hope to see you there!

So, unless justice and truth prevail, we'll see you on June 11th.

Sidewalk street action comes to St. John's

I'm finally getting out and hitting the streets in May. Armchair truth action is great and all, but it's time for me to get off my ass and reach out to the non internet world. It's on a Sunday this time around, which for my schedule is a good thing. I plan on burning as many copies of random 9/11 documentaries as I can by the 11th and just walking the streets handing them out, by myself or not. I also plan to get sidewalk chalk and 'taggin' the city. If I get time to do info sheets, I'll do that as well...

Key locations I'm spreading truth; St. John's city hall, parliament building, war memorials, churches. It's going to be a lovely walk, if nothing else! This city is beautiful.

If anyone out there wants to help out, be it donate DVD's or just walk with me, please contact me anytime.

If you need inspiration, scroll down and watch the video in the previous post...

Some 9/11 Truth Slips Through

While promoting a recent play which my production company (Anti-Entertianment) just put off ('Apartment 420') a little piece of 9/11 Truth slipped through in a local newspaper. It was only minor and probably noticed by very few, but it slipped through none the less.

The full article written by James Macload of 'The Telegram' can be found here but here's what was said regarding 9/11:

“We’re spreading awareness about the impossibilities or inaccuracies and cover-ups since Sept. 11, 2001,” Harris said. “That’s a main issue that we’re focusing on in that aspect of our company.”

It wasn't much, but it was something... especially when you combine that little piece with the fact that one of the lead characters in the show wore an 'Investigate 9/11' T-Shirt exposing a couple of hundred people over the course of a few days to this important cause.

One step at a time right?

February Truth Action Day

Living in Newfoundland during the winter is a tough situation to deal with when you try to plan events. After all the promotion, all of my excitement and a shear devotion to finally get out there and spread truth, a flurry of snow decides to hit the capitol city on the very night truth action on the island was set to begin... not that I was about to let a few flakes (well quite a few flakes) of snow slow me down.

About 1 hour before the event was to start, I pinned my '9/11 Truth Now' sign to my bag and called a cab to take me to the University. When it finally pulled up to the doors, my heart was racing and I no idea what to expect when I entered. After all, even though I've been doing armchair activism online for nearly 2 years now (see Canada Wants 9/11 Truth), last night was my first real face to face action.

After meeting my friend (and 'partner in crime' with both the NL 9/11 Truth Movement and Anti-Entertainment whose support I truly appreciate) I took off my coat and with my 'Truth Now' sign pinned bag strapped around my shoulder, I walked the halls of MUN handing out copies of LCFC to anyone who I passed along the way... and I gotta say that the reception was amazing. I only had 3 people turn down the free DVD and I managed to give away just under 50 (which was all I had time to burn before the event) of them in minutes. It would been quicker if I didn't hold on to some for any folks who may have shown to the screening. A lot of the folks just took the DVD and went on, but some did ask questions and others said 'Bravo'. One guy even came back to ask what it was all about and I had a nice chat about the true events that day. It was amazing. I felt so alive.

As for the screening of Loose Change itself, well that went ahead as planned and even though only 5 people showed, I still consider it a success. When you're dealing with a topic such as this, every minute of action is a success. Last night was no different. We set up shop in room 2105 in the science building of MUN and after a delay of about 15 minutes (just to give any snow stranded stragglers a chance) we began the film and our journey into the world of street (or in this case halls of a university) action here in St. John's. After the 2 hours was up, the few folks who showed up were mesmerized what what they had just saw. The look on the face of one friend after it was all over made me think about what I must have looked like after I was introduced to the truth; doughy eyed, confused, agitated... awake. It was beautiful. It was inspiring. It was real...

All in all, I'm very happy over how our initiation into the monthly international truth action day turned out. It's only the beginning after all and next month will be bigger. I already received an email from an interested person wanting to help out after seeing a sign a MUN. She didn't even know NL 9/11 Truth existed... but it does and it's strong and it's only just begun. One person can make a difference, 2 people can create sparks, 3 people can initiate change and a group of like minded active folks can set that change into motion.

Until next month, I'll be in touch. We'll be in touch.

In truth,
Stephen
